You’re Going Home 2023 After 16 Wasteful Years, Group Tells Hon. Onyejeocha

Indugenes of Isuikwuato Abia state diaspora have expressed dissatisfaction over alleged misrepresentation by the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency, Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, accusing her of “unfair and unjust” treatment against the local government.

The indigenes under the aegis of Isuikwato in Diaspora Organisation (IDO) say they are ready to mobilize resources and provide support to ensure that the fourth time lawmaker leaves Green Chamber in 2023, adding that she has performed below expectations, an online publication says.

According to the source, in a statement dated April 26th, 2021 and electronically signed by the chairman of Isuikwato in Diaspora Organisation ( IDO) United Kingdom, Mazi Azubuike Ukpai, the group vowed that the next representative of the federal constituency must be from Isuikwato, adding that Hon. Onyejeocha has sufficiently taken the turn of Umunneochi people.

The group expressed disappointment over alleged relegation of their local government in the political affairs of the federal Constituency despite having several prominent men in the local government who can represent them.

They insisted that they have numerical strength to win elections in the Constituency, emphasizing that they will ensure Hon. Onyejeocha does not emerge as representative of the Constituency come 2023.

The statement according to the online source partly reads, “It is time an Isuikwato indigene take over the House of Representatives seat in Isuikwato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency from Nkeiru Onyejeocha. She has represented our constituency for more than 16 years with no tangible project to show for her representation. It is unjust and unfair for one particular person to continually eat a meal that belongs to two people.

“Onyejeocha aside overstaying in the Green Chambers has plunged our constituency into a vicious cycle of retrogression and we are out to stop her nonsense. We have prominent men in Isuikwato such as General Azubuike Ihejirika and Dr. Uche Ogah and we are disappointed in them for not stopping her.

“From our assessment of her representation, it is only this year that she has tried to do projects out of the other 15 years. This is unacceptable because we need progressive representatives.

“The numerical strength of Isuikwato is enough to vote her out not considering any party she runs to. Any political party intending to give her ticket is doing so at it’s peril. This is because we do not plan to stop at providing the finance to retire her politically but will also mobilize all our people to make sure they do the right thing.

“We are also aware that our Umunneochi brothers and sisters are tired of her. We will do everything possible to make sure that she retires in the next general election. We have the resources and we will provide enough resources for anyone to replace her in 2023. “ Mazi Ukpai stressed.
