Staff of Traffic And Indiscipline Management Agency Abia State (TIMAAS) have decried the harsh weather conditions under which they carry out their assignments, saying it affects their health.
According to the traffic wardens, the lack of cubicles where they can take shield during rainy and dry seasons affects their health, causing them insomnia, a medical condition associated with inability to sleep.
One of the staff of Agency who works at Umudike junction in Umuahia who gave her name as Confidence Uche in a chat with ABN TV on Monday lamented that despite resuming work at 7am daily and closing at about 8 pm, there is not available shield where they can take refuge during sun and rain, appealing to the state government and well-meaning individuals to come to their aid.

She further told ABN TV that standing up at a particular place for about 13 hours is enough stress, saying doing so under harsh weather conditions is not health-friendly.
It is however expected that this call will bring succour to them especially as they contribute their quota in ensuring that the rate of accident is reduced in major roads across Abia.
