Why We Protested At INEC Headquarters – Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate, has stated that his party protested at the national offices of the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, in Abuja since all terms of the present electoral law were fully violated.

ABN TV has reported that Atiku led a demonstration at the INEC’s national headquarters in Abuja.

The PDP Chairperson, Iyorchia Ayu, as well as other party leaders and supporters, were present during the demonstration at INEC headquarters.

Speaking to reporters outside the INEC headquarters in Abuja, Atiku vowed that the demonstration would continue.

Atiku said, “All the provisions of the current Electoral law have been completely contravened. We were protesting and then INEC was not listening and went on to announce the result.”

“That is why we are protesting. We have the right to protest and it will continue for a very long time, either every day or any other day.”

“We have the right to protest under the constitution, and it doesn’t stop us from going to the court,” he said.

Atiku and his Labour Party rival Peter Obi were defeated by the APC’s Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.

The former Vice President finished second to the winner and President-elect Tinubu.
