We’ve Taken Request For NYSC Members’ Allowances Increase To Buhari — Minister

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare, says a proposal to increase corps members’ allowances is before President Muhammadu Buhari.

He disclosed this in Abuja yesterday when he inaugurated a 19-man committee for the 50 years celebration of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He said the management of the NYSC had sent a proposal which his ministry had taken to the president for approval.

He noted that under the present administration, corps members’ allowance was increased to N33,000 from N19,700.

He said the committee was expected to make recommendations on reforms and welfare of the NYSC.
