Imo State police command has broken its silence over the alleged abduction of son-in-law of Sen. Rochas Okorocha, Mr. Uche Nwosu, saying the former governorship candidate was not kidnapped but arrested, ABN TV reports.
PPRO of the command, CSP Michael Abattam in a statement on Sunday refuted the report that Nwosu was kidnapped.
The police Spokesperson noted that Nwosu is in its custody.
“This is to inform the general public that chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and Imo state police command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody.
“This is to refute the earlier news that has being making rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons / gunmen” he stated.
He however did not disclose the offence for which Nwosu was arrested.
The command assured Imolites of its commitment in ensuring the safety of life and prosperity this yuletide seasons.
