Villagers Flee Abia Community As Gunmen Reportedly K!ll Two Following Nigerian Army Raid

Panic has gripped the Umuchima community in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, as residents flee their homes after the k!lling of two individuals by unknown gunmen early Friday morning, November 29, 2024.

It was gathered that one of the victims, identified as Osama, was accused by the gunmen of allegedly providing information about their activities to the Nigerian Army. The second victim was the local Vigilante Commander.

This development follows a recent operation by the Nigerian Army on Monday, during which troops invaded a camp belonging to the unknown gunmen in the same community in an effort to dismantle their operations.

The killings have left the community in turmoil, with many villagers abandoning their ancestral lands out of fear for their safety.
