The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa has assured that he will not only meet the expectations of people who sent him to the House of Representatives but surpass it.
While noting that he would engage in monthly townhall meeting with the people of the constituency in line with the promise he made during his campaign, he said transparency and accountability will be his watchword in serving.
In a chat with ABN TV on Tuesday in Abuja, he said the power outage in Ohafia community in the past three years is both funny and worrisome, saying he along with top officials of the state government are engaging with EEDC, the electricity distribution company to ensure that power is restored in Ohafia.
He said he will in coming days sit with the state governor, Dr. Alex Otti and other stakeholders to bring the prolonged darkness in his community and surrounding villages to an end.
On the state of roads around Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Okwara Osonwa said he has written to contractors handling the projects in follow-up to the efforts his predecessor, Hon. Uko Nkole made to fix the roads, saying no budget has been passed since his election.
“The budget that will come in 2024, I will find a way to include these roads again“, he assured.
The lawmaker said some roads around Ohafia which require immediate touch are receiving palliative attention which he said some of them were funded through his personal pocket.
While decrying the growing gully erosions in communities around Ohafia and Arochukwu, Hon. Okwara Osonwa assured that engagement with critical stakeholders are ongoing to bring succour to the people.
