Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency of Abia State state, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah says he feel pain in his heart that the Ministry of Petroleum presented a budget worth over N10bn for 2024 fiscal year.
During budget defence before the House of Representatives by the Ministry of Petroleum officials, Ogah said the budget does not reflect the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu, saying nothing justifies the huge amount being presented for approval, essentially in a sector that has no functional refinery.
Ogah, Chairman of the House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria Control said he bleeds in his heart, calling for immediate withdrawal of the budget estimate.
“What is our hope? Does it mean we don’t have plans that our refineries would work?
“Hon. Minister, I think this document needs to be retrieved because Nigerians are expecting more than this.
“The campaign of Renewed Hope is not represented here. Retrieve this document and do something. Make sure efforts are put in place to ensure our refineries are put in place“, he urged.
