UPDATE: Nnamdi Kanu Arrives at Federal High Court For Cross-Examination Of Government Witness (Video)

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, May 2, 2025, for the continuation of his trial.

Today’s court session is scheduled for the cross-examination of the federal government’s first witness, identified as Prosecution Witness AAA (PW AAA). The witness had earlier testified behind a screen during a previous hearing, following a court order shielding his identity from the public.

Kanu, who is facing charges bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism, appeared calm as he was brought into the courtroom by security operatives.

His legal team, led by Kanu Agbai SAN, is expected to begin the cross-examination process to challenge the testimony given by PW AAA during direct examination by the prosecution.

Supporters of the IPOB leader, as well as observers, gathered around the court premises under tight security as the high-profile case continues to draw national and international attention.

The outcome of today’s hearing is expected to shape the next phase of the trial, which has been ongoing since Kanu’s re-arrest and extradition in 2021.
