Born on September 16, 1980, in Aba (Enyimba City), Abia State, Dr. Anyaso hails from Igbere in Bende Local Government Area. He received his elementary and secondary education in Abia State before proceeding to Ebonyi State University, where he earned a BA in English and Literature.
From a young age, Chima—fondly called “Chima” by friends—demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Despite being the last child of well-to-do parents, he engaged in petty trading during school holidays to earn extra income, inspired by the business successes of his parents who were both accomplished traders.
Driven by a deep belief in the power of education, Dr. Anyaso furthered his academic journey by obtaining an MBA and an M.Sc. in Management from the University of Lagos. He also earned an Executive Management Certification from the Peter J. Tobin College of Business, St. John’s University, Manhattan, New York.
His professional career began with roles at Elmline Nig. Ltd., South Globe Ltd., Traqui Ltd., and Geo Bureau de Change, where he gained invaluable corporate experience and left lasting impressions on colleagues and employers. His tenure at Aquitane Oil and Gas Ltd. was especially pivotal, helping solidify his reputation as a fast-rising professional in the oil and gas sector.
In 2006, Dr. Chima took a bold step by resigning from Aquitane to establish his own company, Caades Oil and Gas Ltd. It was a daring move for a young man of his age, but one that proved providential. The rapid rise of Caades led to the establishment of Ceecon Energy Oil and Gas Ltd., which soon became the flagship of his corporate portfolio. Under his leadership, Ceecon Energy swiftly earned a place among Nigeria’s “Ivy League” petroleum companies, generating over $1 billion in turnover, consulting for top international corporations like Addax and Vitol, and partnering with leading multinationals including Total, Mobil, Oando, AP, and Wabeco.
His entrepreneurial drive expanded beyond oil and gas. He founded SC & C Bureau de Change Ltd, one of the elite Class “A” BDCs licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2009 to address foreign exchange shortages. He also established Chimbaland Properties & Investment Co. Ltd, with strong interests in premium Lagos real estate, and Oil Rigs Global Resources Ltd, serving as a strategic support enterprise to his petroleum businesses.
A passionate philanthropist and community developer, Dr. Anyaso is the Founder of Chima Anyaso Foundation and the Founder/Sole Sponsor of the Ahuoma Anyaso Education Foundation. He is also the convener of the influential #NN19 movement.
He has received numerous honors, including the Forbes-rated African Achievers Award for Community Development and the Democracy Youth Icon of the Year 2017. Vanguard Newspaper and Champion Newspaper have also recognized him as one of Nigeria’s Top 20 Business Professionals.
His hobbies include traveling, tennis, music, and football. He is a member of Ikoyi Club, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Miles Club, and the first elected President of the Umuaba Connect Association of Nigeria. He sits on the boards of several companies with significant investments in real estate development, hospitality and lifestyle, financial services, and healthcare.
Deeply passionate about grassroots development, Dr. Anyaso has transformed countless lives through his foundations. The Ahuoma Anyaso Education Foundation runs a state-of-the-art, tuition-free nursery and primary school that has operated for 11 years, educating over 500 pupils annually at no cost—covering staff salaries, uniforms, books, and learning materials.
His Chima Anyaso Foundation has provided free medical outreach to more than 17,000 adults across Abia State, including sustained support for HIV/AIDS patients. Through his empowerment initiatives, he has funded start-up capital for over 100 MSMEs, distributed 400 motorcycles and over 100 vehicles to unemployed youths, and empowered widows with business grants and essential tools such as grinding machines and tailoring equipment.
