At least three police officers have been killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in Achi, a community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
ABN TV gathered that the tragic incident occurred at a security checkpoint located near Ozudaa Market in Achi on Monday.
While details surrounding the attack remain unclear, eyewitnesses say the area has been thrown into panic, with residents fleeing for safety.
The Enugu State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement regarding the development. Repeated attempts to reach the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls at the time of filing this report.
A disturbing video circulating online and obtained by ABN TV shows the lifeless bodies of the slain officers, raising concerns over the rising insecurity in the region.
