Over 30 people have been killed by bandits in Kachiwe and adjourning villages in Sarkin Pawa in Munya local government area of Niger State.
It was learnt that the villages were attacked by bandits who entered Niger from Sarkin pawa which shares boundary with Kaduna State.
The Secretary to the Niger state Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane confirmed the attack in a telephone interview.
He however did not give actual number of those who died from the attack.

Matane said that the incident is being investigated and the security agencies are on the trail of the gunmen.
He added that the State Government is not resting on its oars to rid the State of crime and criminality.
Niger Commissioner of Police Monday Bala Kuryas also confirmed the attack, saying that investigation has commenced to enable them track down the perpetrators of the criminal act.
According to him, a team of policemen have been despatch to the area to protect Sarkin Pawa.
