Unknown Gunmen Attack Police Station In Imo, Kill ASP, Beat Up DPO

Unknown Gunmen have attacked a police station in Arondizuogu, Ideato North LGA of Imo state.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the hoodlums attacked the Police Station around 3 a.m. on Tuesday shooting sporadically. They attacked the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of the station with matchetes, causing serious injuries and killed an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP.

Further details made available to this paper reveled that the attackers burn the DPO’s jeep and other police vehicles in the premises.

An eyewitness disclosed: “The morning is a little rough at Arondizuogu, Ideato North, Imo State as the DPO was attacked ad macheted on his head and an ASP shot dead.”

“The police station was burnt down, including the police Sienna and the DPO’s personal Lexus Jeep car. All were burnt down. The CP is on his way to the place,”.

Imo police spokesperson, Mike Abbattam has since confirmed the incident. The state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered an investigation into the attack.
