Member representing Bende North constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu has said he has recorded a significant milestone in revitalizing education, agriculture and social welfare in his constituency.
Describing his experience in the past two years as interesting, rewarding and challenging, the lawmaker in a chat with ABN TV on Friday noted that he came into the Assembly when most of the schools in his constituency were highly dilapidated.
Hon. Chukwu said some of the schools did not have a single block standing, saying through his engagement, no fewer than four classroom blocks have been attracted in Amaba Ugwueke community primary school.
According to the lawmaker, he also attracted the renovation of Amaeze primary school through ASUBEB intervention.
In Okoko Item, perimeter fencing and renovation of the primary school in the community are being put in place.
The Amaba Ugwueke health centre which according to him was before now in a very bad shape is currently receiving attention through his intervention.
He added that his constituents have benefitted from agriculture grant which seeks to encourage rice and cassava farmers in addition to the provision of farming equipment.
The Minority Leader of the Assembly also highlighted that his office has assisted a number of constituents in the payment of medical bills and tuition fees.
In legislation, he told our correspondent that he sponsored the Abia State University Teaching Hospital bill which has legitimized the study of medicine and medical practice in the state-owned university.
He further noted that he has sponsored several motions and matters of urgent public importance that will draw the attention of authorities to the plight of his people.
