Two Soldiers Killed After Gun Duel With Suspected ESN Members In Enugu

Two soldiers of the Nigerian Army have been reportedly shot dead by men suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network, ESN in Enugu.

In a statement made available to ABN TV by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the soldiers were killed on Tuesday at Adani community of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of the state.

They were said to have paid the supreme price in an attempt to repel members of Eastern Security Network (ESN) who had launched an attack

The statement partly read: ”Sadly, during the fire fight that ensued, two soldiers paid the supreme price.

“The troops are currently on the trail of the criminals.

”Nwachukwu urged the public to provide useful information on the fleeing gunmen to the force.

“We assure the general public of our commitment to provide adequate security in the general area in collaboration with other security agencies.

“We also urge members of the public to complement the effort of the security agencies by remaining law abiding and provide useful information on the fleeing gunmen,” the statement added.
