Two Beninese Kidnappers Arrested With Teenage Girl At Ogun Border

At the Idiroko border, in the Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, two individuals who are allegedly citizens of the Republic of Benin have been detained.

The two, Kazeem Moye (25 years old) and Kokuyi Moye (20 years old), were apprehended by members of the So-Safe Corps on Monday at around 2:45 a.m. while attempting to flee with a little girl who had been kidnapped.

Soji Ganzallo, the commander of the So-Safe Corps, told the Daily Post that the agency’s Special Patrol team had observed suspicious activity while conducting a normal patrol in the Idiroko border region.

“They were stopped and interrogated, but they both failed to provide convincing answers,” Ganzallo said.

The 16-year-old female abductee, Okechukwu Felicia, a native of Ajuwon Akute in the Ifo Local Government Area, reportedly underwent questioning as well, but was unable to determine the reality of the situation, according to the Corps Commander.

Ganzallo claimed that during its initial inquiry, the corps learned that the suspects had previously been listed as sought for a related offense at the Akute Ajuwon divisional police headquarters.

“The suspects were apprehended at Iyana-Ago trying to cross to the Republic of Benin.”

“The suspects, the victim and a Bajaj motorcycle were handed over to the police at Ajuwon divisional headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution,” it was stated.
