Twitter Agrees To Open Office In Nigeria

Twitter has agreed to open an office in Nigeria, Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has revealed.

Speaking to statehouse correspondents on Wednesday, Mohammed said that the Federal government has several meetings with Twitter adding that progress was being made.

He disclosed that the suspension on Twitter will be lifted ‘very soon’.

He said; “We have made it clear what we want from Twitter. The end for amicable resolution is very much in sight.”

“We appreciate the patience of Nigerians. I want to assure you that we have made very tremendous progress. We have met with Twitter both physically and in writing. We are actually almost there.”

“They (Twitter) have shown a lot of flexibility, the conversation has not been acrimonious.”

He said that in the area of a Nigerian office, even though Twitter has agreed to the condition, it is however maintaining that the earliest it can establish it is 2022.
