U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he plans to give Russian President Vladimir Putin a new deadline of “10 or 12 days” to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
“I’m going to make a new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today. There’s no reason in waiting—we just don’t see any progress being made,” Trump told reporters during a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The statement signals a renewed push from the U.S. administration to pressure Russia for a swift resolution to the conflict, though it remains unclear what actions would follow if the deadline is not met.
