Trump Orders Intensified Deportation Efforts In Democratic-Led Cities Amid Rising Tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday directed federal agencies to escalate deportation operations in Democratic-run cities, reinforcing his hardline immigration stance following widespread protests in Los Angeles.

“Efforts must be expanded to detain and deport illegal immigrants in major cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where millions reside,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Labeling these urban centers as “Democrat Power Centers,” Trump echoed discredited claims suggesting undocumented immigrants are voting in large numbers — a theory widely rejected by experts.

Immigration enforcement has become a central theme of Trump’s reelection campaign. Last week’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Los Angeles sparked significant unrest, leading Trump to deploy 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines — a move opposed by local and state leaders. California has since filed a lawsuit, arguing Trump exceeded his authority in deploying the National Guard, with the case currently in federal court.

In a lengthy statement on Truth Social, Trump accused ICE agents of being subjected to hostility from “Radical Democrat Politicians,” yet vowed that operations would not be deterred.

He called for the launch of what he described as “the largest mass deportation program in history,” directing ICE officers to “do all in their power” to execute the plan.

Trump further criticized Democratic policies, accusing the party of promoting open borders, supporting transgender rights, and allowing men to compete in women’s sports — positions he claimed were damaging American cities.

Drawing a controversial comparison, Trump referred to current immigration patterns as a form of “mass destruction migration,” alleging they have degraded American towns and cities.

Despite the divisive tone, he ended his statement by praising federal law enforcement officers, saying they have the support of “REAL Americans,” and urged agencies including ICE, the FBI, DEA, ATF, the Pentagon, and the State Department to “get the job done.”
