Maiduguri —Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, yesterday, intercepted a Toyota pick-up truck conveying three suspected members of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.
Sources revealed that upon the interception, which took place about 0830A on Monday, troops recovered large textile fabrics used by terrorists for uniforms in carrying out their dastardly activities in the North East region.
Recall that parts of terrorist’ strategies is to wear unified clothes/uniforms during attacks purportedly for easy identification of their members.
A military officer, who is not authorised to talk to the press, confirmed the incident, yesterday.
“Our Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, on Tuesday made a big catch by intercepting a Toyota Pick-Up Truck conveying three suspected members of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.
“Upon interception, troops also recovered large textile fabrics used by terrorists for uniforms in perpetrating their dastardly activities in the North East region.
“Apart from the recovery of the textile fabrics from the terrorists, the Pick-Up vehicle also contained 20 pieces of Hilux tyre tubes, motorcycle/bicycle spare parts and several cutlasses.
“We also recovered three mobile phones hidden and concealed under planks, several tyres and other items in the vehicle,” said the military source.
Although, the source did not reveal further as to where the specific ncident took place, Vanguard gathered that the incident took place along Magumeri – Gubio road in Borno State.
