Tricycle Stolen At Gunpoint In Umuahia Amidst Of Insecurity In Abia

A daring armed robbery occurred last night in Umuahia when gunmen snatched a tricycle, popularly known as Keke NAPEP, from its owner.

According to the victim’s spouse, Ogechi Okechukwu who spoke to ABN TV, the incident happened around 8pm yesterday. The gunmen used a firearm to intimidate and disarm the my husband (the driver) before making off with the tricycle.

The perpetrators allegedly directed the victim to drive to a popular joint at BCA Road Umuahia from Lagos Street, where they claimed they would pick up a girl friend. During the stop, the victim’s phone and bag were taken, and his person was searched.

The stolen tricycle’s plate number is Abia- KPU561WZ, with registration number 680.
The incident has been reported to the Abia State Police Command, and authorities have commenced an investigation.
