A devastating incident has occurred in Aba, Abia State, leaving the community in shock. Blessing Chilaka, a Point of Sale (PoS) operator, was attacked and robbed on his way home from work, resulting in his tragic death, ABN TV reports.
The incident was brought to light through a post on Victor Kaycee Onyendi’s Facebook page, where most of the details were shared. According to the post, Chilaka had closed his PoS shop at Umuojima Junction and was heading home when he was ambushed by unknown assailants. The attackers made off with a staggering N3 million, leaving Chilaka severely injured.
Despite efforts to save his life, Chilaka was rushed to a nearby hospital and later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Umuahia, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
In an attempt to confirm the incident, our correspondent reached out to the Police Public Relations Officer of Abia State Police Command, ASP Chinaka Chioma Maureen, but the effort proved abortive.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent such senseless attacks. The police have been urged to launch a thorough investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The family and friends of Blessing Chilaka are in mourning, and the community is rallying around them to offer support during this difficult time.
