Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and are on the verge of securing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest in a double transfer deal worth over £100 million ($136 million).
Kudus joins Spurs in a reported £55 million move, becoming the first player to transfer directly from West Ham to Tottenham since 2011. The Ghana international’s arrival will soon be followed by Gibbs-White, after Tottenham triggered the £60 million release clause in the midfielder’s Forest contract.
The high-profile acquisitions signal the beginning of a new era at Tottenham under Thomas Frank, who replaced Ange Postecoglou last month. The managerial change came despite Postecoglou leading the club to Europa League glory—Tottenham’s first major trophy in 17 years—and securing a Champions League berth with a dramatic final win over Manchester United in Bilbao.
Kudus cited Spurs’ Champions League qualification and Frank’s reputation for player development—proven during his time at Brentford—as key reasons for joining the club.
“I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level,” Kudus told Tottenham’s official website.
“The size of the club, its history, and the opportunity to play in the Champions League all made this a big moment for me. Most importantly, it’s the project and how the manager believes I can grow under him. I’ve seen the talent he’s developed into great players, and that’s a big reason why I’m here.”
Kudus arrives after scoring 19 goals in 80 appearances for West Ham, having joined the club from Ajax in 2022 for £38 million.
Gibbs-White, who played a pivotal role in Forest’s surprise seventh-place Premier League finish last season, contributed seven goals and 10 assists in 34 league matches. His performances earned him senior England call-ups under both Lee Carsley and Thomas Tuchel and had previously attracted interest from Manchester City.
His expected departure marks a second major blow for Nottingham Forest in quick succession, following Anthony Elanga’s impending £55 million move to Newcastle.
Gibbs-White originally joined Forest from Wolves in 2022 in a deal worth an initial £25 million, potentially rising to £42.5 million with add-ons.
