The ancient city of Ameke Ibeku in Umuahia Abia State on Thursday played host to high-profile individuals from within and outside the state to pay their last respects to late Catherine Ihunwa Onyegbule, grandmother of super Eagles football star, Samuel Chukwueze, ABN TV reports.

It was a carnival of sorts as the burial of the 81-year-old Christian woman availed the people the opportunity to display their rich cultural heritage as represented in their food, mode of dressing, and traditional dance troupe.

The octogenarian was lowered to the mother earth after a funeral service organised by Master Vessel Ministry (MVN) at Amaeke Primary School Umuahia.

It was however a day of weeping and crying for her beloved grandson, Chukwueze who could not hold his tears as her lovely grandmum is no more.

The pastor during his sermon urged the mourners to take a cue from the exemplary life of the late Catherine Ihunwa Onyegbule who was known for building peace and extending a shoulder of love in her community and beyond.
