Tinubu’s Victory: Peter Obi Asking For Non-existent Documents Against President – INEC

Some documents requested by Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to be presented as exhibits at the Presidential Election Tribunal are missing.

The declaration was made by INEC during the Tribunal’s meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

Obi and the Labour Party (LP) have filed a case in court disputing President Bola Tinubu’s election on February 25.

INEC, President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and their All Progressives Congress (APC) are the petition’s respondents.

Mr. Lawrence Bayode, Deputy Director, ICT at INEC, testified in court that two of the five documents Obi requested were non-existent, while one was a work in progress.

Ms. Loretta Ogah, an ICT cloud engineer and one of Obi’s witnesses, stated that she ran for the House of Representatives in Cross River on the platform of the Labour Party but lost.

Mr. Wole Olanipakun (SAN), counsel for Tinubu and Shettima, cross-examined Ogah.

She told the court that she sued INEC after her loss because the electoral body failed to put her name on its portal due to a network outage.

Ogah, who was also cross-examined by Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), counsel for the APC, informed the court that no faults occurred on the INEC platform on February 25.

She said she was unaware of INEC’s password policy because she was not an employee of INEC.

The court presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, rescheduled the next hearing for Wednesday.
