On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu received the remains of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport in Katsina.

Buhari’s coffin, draped in the Nigerian flag, was flown into the state under tight security. President Tinubu, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and other senior officials, stood solemnly as the coffin was carefully unloaded from the aircraft.

The late president’s widow, Aisha Buhari, and close family members were also present at the brief ceremony held at the airport.

Following the reception, the delegation departed for Daura, Buhari’s hometown, where he is scheduled to be laid to rest later today in accordance with Islamic rites.
