Tinubu, Fellow African Leaders Convene At Tanzania’s Africa Energy Summit [PHOTOS]

In Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu attended the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit alongside other African leaders.

Tinubu was spotted alongside Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the summit.

Other leaders reportedly at the summit include King Letsie III of Lesotho, President Ismail Guelleh of Djibouti, Denis Sassou Nguesso of Congo-Brazzaville, Azali Assoumani of Comoros, Andry Nirina Rajoelina of Madagascar, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia, Julius Made Bio of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania, Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau, Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, and Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia, among others.

PUNCH had previously reported that Tinubu arrived in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to attend the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which started on January 27.

The President, who arrived at 10.20 p.m. (8.20 p.m. Nigerian time), was received by the Foreign Minister of Tanzania, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian High Commission to Tanzania, Ambassador Salisu Suleiman.

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, had on Monday also stated that the goal is to ensure energy security, affordability, and sustainability.

“He’s not here just for the fun of it. Mr. President will announce a dynamic, compact initiative coming from Nigeria that will help push this agenda forward,” Dare told journalists.

The two-day summit is reportedly being hosted by the government of Tanzania, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group.
