Tinubu Emerges New ECOWAS Chairman

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has elected President Bola Tinubu as its new Chairman.

On Sunday, the organization’s 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community met in Bissau, the capital of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

Tinubu’s role as chairman will be critical in guiding ECOWAS member-states toward economic progress, political stability, and cooperation.

Tinubu, as the newly appointed chairman, will work closely with member countries, regional institutions, and international partners to undertake initiatives supporting economic growth, regional trade integration, and social development.

He is also expected to focus on enhancing ECOWAS’ collective response to security concerns and encouraging tighter cooperation among member nations.
