Tinubu Approves Redeployment Of Four Permanent Secretaries To Boost Civil Service Efficiency

In a strategic move aimed at revitalising the Federal Civil Service and aligning it with the Renewed Hope Agenda, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the redeployment of four Federal Permanent Secretaries to new ministries.

The announcement was made in a statement released by Mrs. Eno Olotu, Director of Information & Public Relations, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the redeployment is designed to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and strengthen service delivery across government ministries. It is part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to modernise the civil service and ensure that leadership talent is deployed where it is most needed.

The newly redeployed officials and their postings are:

• Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe – Moved from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to the Ministry of Regional Development, where she will understudy the outgoing Permanent Secretary scheduled for retirement on May 7, 2025.
• Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo – Transferred from the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
• Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi – Reassigned from the Ministry of Budget & Economic Development to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
• Mr. Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam – Posted from the Special Duties Office (OHCSF) to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the redeployment as a routine administrative measure aimed at aligning expertise with national priorities. She urged the affected Permanent Secretaries to bring their wealth of experience and leadership to bear in their new roles to deliver meaningful progress.

“All handover and takeover processes must be completed on or before May 2, 2025, in accordance with the presidential directive,” the statement noted.

Walson-Jack reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to building a world-class Civil Service that promotes professionalism, innovation, and national development.
