“Things Are Not Okay,” Sycophants Misleading Tinubu – Adamu Garba

Adamu Garba, a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential candidate, has expressed serious concern over the widening gap between the actual situation in Nigeria and the information being presented to President Bola Tinubu by his inner circle.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Garba warned that the president is being misled by sycophants who are giving a misleading impression of stability both within the country and the ruling party.

“There is a lot of flattery around the President,” Garba said. “People are telling him everything is fine—but it is not.”

His comments come amid rising political tensions and the contentious resignation of former APC chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

Garba also pointed to the recent creation of an opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a serious challenge to the APC’s hold on power. He described the coalition as “vultures waiting to capitalize on the APC’s weaknesses.”

“They are hoping for our downfall, which is why we must take things seriously,” Garba urged. “We need leaders who accept criticism and face facts honestly, without flattery or denial.”

Regarding the state of the APC in northern Nigeria, Garba said internal divisions deepened following former President Muhammadu Buhari’s exit from office in 2023 and worsened after his death in July 2025.

He pointed out that Buhari’s influence, which once secured 12 million bloc votes in the north, was already waning before his passing.

“In 2023, the APC only garnered 5.5 million votes in the north. What happened to those 12 million votes?” Garba questioned. “We won then through strong structures and strategy, but without Buhari, we must rethink our approach to stay relevant.”
