‘They Want To Cancel My Show In Nigeria Over Economy Comment’ – Davido

Following his controversial comments regarding Nigeria’s economy, Afrobeats artist Davido has hinted that his highly anticipated December performance may be canceled.

The singer made headlines after appearing on the American podcast Big Homies House, where he advised Americans against relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria.

Davido described the country’s economy as being in “shambles,” a statement that sparked a flurry of backlash from Nigerians at home and abroad.

Prominent figures like Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri publicly criticized the remarks, accusing the artist of tarnishing Nigeria’s image on a global platform.

Addressing the backlash, Davido defended his position by emphasizing the role of entertainers as the country’s “real ambassadors.” He took to his X handle, writing, “Yall mad cus we the real ambassadors!”
