Chinelo, overcome with emotion, praised Evangelist Obi for his selfless support, citing his sponsorship as pivotal in her academic journey. She presented her NYSC certificate, her one-year salary from the federal government (popularly known as “Alawi”), and a ram as tokens of appreciation.

However, in a remarkable display of humility, Evangelist Obi thanked Chinelo for the gesture but asked her to return the Alawi money, accepting only the ram. This selfless act underscored his philanthropic spirit.

Evangelist Obi recounted their journey, sharing that Chinelo’s father had passed away, and her mother, from Imo State, struggled to support her education. He encouraged Chinelo to pursue her dreams, sponsoring her studies at Abia State University.

Obi revealed that he currently supports over 60 students across Nigerian universities, emphasizing the rarity of gratitude like Chinelo’s. He praised her kindness, intelligence and determination, recommending her to prospective suitors.

“This is a rare display of gratitude,” Evangelist Obi said. “Many I’ve sponsored are now working, some abroad, yet none have shown appreciation like Chinelo.”

This heartwarming encounter highlights the transformative impact of philanthropy and mentorship.
