The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer attached to the operatives of the Rivers State Taskforce on Illegal Street Trading and Motor Parks has shot a commercial driver dead in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The incident according to The Port City News occurred along the Mbuogba – NTA Road Port Harcourt.
The online medium reports that it is the second time that an altercation between the drivers and Taskforce operatives is leading to the death of a driver along the road.

Eyewitnesses said that clash between the drivers and Taskforce operatives in the area resulted in the death of one of the drivers while several commercial buses were vandalized by the Taskforce operatives.
Following the escalated tension, police officers were drafted to quell the tension.
Gunshots by the police officers sent everyone scampering for safety.
