Miss Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, has passed away after being accidentally shot by a police escort during an attempt to repel a bandit attack.
A source revealed that Atsi succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Abuja, where she had been receiving advanced medical treatment.
“She passed away last night, despite efforts to save her. The governor and his family are yet to issue an official statement. Our hearts go out to them during this difficult time,” the source stated.

Another source confirmed, “Yes, the governor’s younger sister, who was recently shot during an attack by bandits on her way to Abuja, has died.”
According to source, the tragic incident occurred last Thursday on Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area, Taraba State. Atsi Kefas was traveling alongside her mother, Mrs. Jumai Kefas, when they were ambushed by gunmen.
During the chaos, a police officer providing security for the family accidentally shot Atsi while trying to fend off the attackers.
Efforts to reach the governor’s spokesperson, Emmanuel Bello, for comments were unsuccessful as he had not responded to messages at the time of this report.
