SWAN Commends Abia Speaker Over Mini Stadia, Says Projects’ll Enhance Sports Devt

Reporters covering sports beat under the aegis of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Abia chapter have lauded the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji for embarking on the development of sports in the state through his mini-stadium projects.

This commendation comes barely a week the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) in a similar vein hailed the Speaker for undertaking the project in various parts of the state which they said will get Abia youths meaningfully engaged.

In a communique issued by the association after a meeting in Umuahia on Friday, the sportswriters said the mini stadia “will further complement the efforts of the State government in the development of sports in Abia State”.

Our correspondent gathered that the Abia Speaker, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has sponsored the construction of seven mini stadia across the state.

The locations are Isieke Ibeku, St Stephen’s Primary School, Umuahia, Ubakala, Umuopara, Ikwuano, Olokoro and Ohuhu.

There are indications that more similar projects will be executed in coming days in other parts of the state.
