Sun Newspaper apologises to Abia Speaker 7 years after libelous publication

The Management of The Sun Publishing Limited, owners and Publishers of the Sun Newspapers has Officially apologized to the Speaker of the Abia state House of Assembly Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji over alleged libel in 2014.

The Sun Newspaper’s apology to the Speaker is contained in the front page of its Friday 14th February 2020 edition with the bold caption ‘our error’.

The Sun Newspaper in its page 21 of the March 10, 2014 edition had said ‘it is not a secret affair as his terrorist activities in the state are fully documented’.

Six Years after, the News Paper has admitted its error and tendered an Open Apology on their FrontPage.

The Sun Publishing Limited hereby express its regrets in respect of the portion of the Daily Sun Publication of Monday, March 10, 2014, on page 21 entitled: T.A Orji’s 7-year Demystification of Kalu” and disavow the truthfulness of the contents thereof representing Rt. Hon Chinedu Orji as one who engages in terrorist activities and systematic asphyxiation of Abians, the Company tenders its Apology to him for the discomfort the said Publication may have caused him”, The Sun Stated in its apology.
