Sun FM 91.3 Igbere will on Saturday, December 7, celebrate 2 years of intentional, professional and ethical commitment to radio broadcasting.
This was made known by Stanley Mba, the station Manager who also doubles as Head of News.
Addressing newsmen, Mba said the event tagged “Sun FM Igbere 2nd Anniversary and Awards” will be held at the station premises, near Camp Neya in IGBERE, Bende L.G.A, by 12noon.
He said the event which will be chaired by an educationist and legal expert, Chief Dr. Joseph Eke Kalu Esq, CEO Bluespring Hotel and Resort Ohafia will have the Executive Governor of Abia State as the Special Guest of Honour, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District is the Chief Guest of Honour, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu as the Guest of Honour and Elder Chief Mrs Eunice Uzor Kalu (Odiukonamba), founder, of Reality Organization Worldwide as the Mother of the Day.
Mba said the 2nd-anniversary celebration was necessitated by God’s abundant love towards the station and members of staff having seen them through thick and thin.
He said the station, which is the first and only running station in the entire Abia North Senatorial District has in the past 2 years changed the narrative in radio broadcasting by providing news and life-changing programmes that are educating, informative and entertaining to the entire people of Abia North, the state capital Umuahia and the surrounding states of Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi, Anambra and Imo.
He also said the station’s unimaginable listening audience guarantees value for investors and advertising agencies who advertise their goods and services through Sun FM 91.3 Igbere.
The experienced Station Manager and an award-winning On-Air Personality (OAP) also said in the last one year, the station faced unprecedented challenges occasioned by heartbreaking lightning and flood which destroyed the station’s equipment and fences.
He recounted staying off the air for a period of time and thanked the founder of the station, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (MON), who God used to see them through.
In a bid to appreciate God for his love and the consistency of their broadcasting so far, Mba said the station will on Saturday 7th December, celebrate this feat and also present awards to deserving Nigerians who have contributed immensely to the growth of humanity.
