There was panic at Umuajioma village in Oguta LGA of Imo State on Sunday when a youth from the area was allegedly killed by a stray bullet from the Ebubeagu security outfit.

Trouble was said to have erupted when some youth in the area started protesting the presence of the security outfit in their locality.

The protest was said to be the outcome of last week’s incident in which men of Ebubeagu allegedly killed some youth in Otulu, in Oru East LGA of the state.

A community source from Umunganike, a neighbouring village to Umuajioma said that the incident which occurred at about 9 am saw the youths in large numbers, protesting against the presence of the Ebubeagu outfit in their locality.

The youth were said to be shouting, “We don’t want Ebubeagu in our community”.
