Stop Unguarded Comments Against Igbo Elders, Chief Iwuanyanwu Cautions IPOB

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, elder statesman and grand patron of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), has warned youths of Southeast extraction including the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to always be mindful of their utterances and attitudes to their elders in order not to incur the wrath of Igbo ancestors.

Iwuanyanwu had in a recent statement cautioned that although IPOB, led by Nnamdi Kanu, is fighting the injustice being meted to Ndigbo, this should be done and followed with wise and wide counsel by the elders as the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu did,a statement that surprisingly infuriated the freedom fighting organisation.

In a statement through his Special Adviser (Media/Publicity), Ben Osuagwu, which was made available to our correspondent, Chief Iwuanyanwu vehemently denounced the language adopted by the IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, in his diatribe against his person, saying it was sharply at variance with the views of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who he noted had for some time now, been basing his comments on issues and not on innocent individuals.

Relying on a popular adage which posits that any child without respect for the elders would never be an elder, the elder statesman condemned the recent media attack and abuses on his person by the Indigenous People of Biafra, which he described as abominable.

The business mogul, who is the patron and grand patron of virtually all youth organisations in the country, West Africa and Africa at large recalled that during the epic of ‘kill IPOB, kill Nnamdi Kanu’, he stuck out his neck to condemn the act by pointing out that both IPOB and its leader were armless and harmless.
