The South-Central Synod of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, PCN has concluded arrangements to hold the 175 anniversary of the church from 18-19 of September 2021.
Rt. Rev. Chukwuma Kalu Okorie, the Moderator South-Central Synod of the church told ABN TV that the celebration is an opportunity to showcase what God has done through the church within the last 175 years of its existence.
The celebration he said started in Calabar April this year where the national body of the church had its event, followed by Aba parish after which the Umuahia event is coming up.
The clergy said though it has not been easy, but God has helped the church, saying He has shown the church grace and faithfulness.
“On the 18th, we are going to tell the city of Umuahia that the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria is here. All roads will be leading to Ibeku High School along Ikot-Ekpene road.
“All Presbyterian churches within Umuahia parish will converge in Ibeku High School for a match past on that day and other special features of the event will be taking place,” he said.
He added that Sunday will witness a thanksgiving service at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church in Abiriba Street Umuahia.
Dignitaries expected at the event include the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, Speaker Abia state House of Assembly, Hon. Chinedum Orji, Sir Chikwe Udensi, Other and officials of the church from far and wide.
