Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has said the escalating security concerns in the South East is not far from a situation of a zone under a terrorist attack.

According to the Governor, attacks targeted as government facilities including courts, police stations, INEC offices, and security personnel is a desire to undermine the state.

The Governor assured that he and his colleagues in South-East region are deploying resources available to them to ensure that people of the region go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.

According to the Governor, the Abia State Vigilante Group, as well as Homeland Security, are part of efforts to deal with the security concerns in the state.

The Governor stated that the state recently organised a security summit, populated by retired and serving military and para-military officers where a document which his administration is still studying was produced.

He hinted that in coming days, Abia will roll out its own version of Ebubeagu to boost the already existing security architecture to help in protecting the people.
