The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has challenged the former governor of Imo State, Sen. Rochas Okorocha to send his children to join the Eastern Security Network (ESN) as a sign of support for the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The National President of the council, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka at Umuahia, at the weekend in Umuahia reacted to an alleged inciting statement credited to Senator Rochas Okorocha’s loyalist, Chidi Ibe.
This follows an online publication on 19th February 2021 wherein Mr. Ibe allegedly made several conscientious efforts to incite members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over the false claims that the military invaded and attacked the people living in Orlu when they combed the forest to ward-off some criminal elements in the bushes.

In a statement signed by Chukwuemeka Chimerue, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to OYC National President, he said Igboayaka stated that Mr. Chidi Ibe’s claim that “Southeast will never forget the dark days of 1967, Igbos will fight back” was a pure sycophantic statement, noting that Okorocha and his puppet lacked the knowledge of the horror that befell the Igbo during the Nigeria-Biafra war.
“Rochas Okorocha and Mr. Chidi Ibe were banking on the sympathy of IPOB to create undue popularity and public attention towards them. This is quite childish,” Igboayaka stated.
The statement further read, “Comrade Igboayaka noted that the hypocritical support of Rochas Okorocha and Mr. Chidi Ibe was a mere political gimmick, adding that their claim that the Nigerian Army are looking for ESN, yet none of the sons of Okorocha has been enrolled into ESN. He warned Rochas and Chidi Ibe that it is unacceptable to keep their children safe in abroad while they incite and lure Igbo youths to engage in civil war in Nigeria.
“Igboayaka maintained that Igbos are not in any war with the Nigerian Government and have no cause to be at war, stressing that it was unreasonable for Rochas Okorocha and his boy Mr. Ibe to blame Gov. Hope Uzodinma in putting measures to guarantee the safety of Imolites through a military presence in Orlu.
“We are aware that Gov. Hope Uzodinma is not high-handed like Sen. Okorocha, therefore, any reasonable Igbo person should applaud Gov. Uzodinma on his technical, diplomatic, and patriotic approach since armed group clashed with Army and Police in Orlu. It could have been like the Obigbo massacre if it was not handled by the wisdom of Gov. Uzodinma,” Igboayaka revealed.

“Igboayaka, therefore, advised Okorocha and Mr. Ibe to stop inciting pro-Biafrans or be ready to face the consequences in due time if any crisis should break out in Igboland.”
