The Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan on Sunday bagged the chieftaincy title of Nwanne di na Mba 1 (Brother in Diaspora) by Igbere Crowned Council of Ndi Eze, Bende local government area of Abia State.
ABN TV reports that the Senate President was in Igbere, the hometown of Senate Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu for the 10th transition anniversary of his Late father, Chief Johnson Uzor Nesiegbe.
Expressing gratitude over the recognition, Lawan declared himself a proud son of Igbere.
He said by the virtue of the recognition, he can proudly stand anywhere to say he is from Igbere community in Abia State.
Conferring the title, the royal fathers said the honour is in recognition of Senator Lawan’s commitment to peace and unity of the country as well as the development of Igbere community and Abia as a whole.
They also said they extend the love they have for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to the Senate President, saying he is a friend and brother to Igbere community.
While expressing gratitude to the Senate President for finding time to grace the occasion, the royal fathers prayed for more political elevation of the third citizen at the right time.
