Since the inception of democratic setting in Nigeria, Igbos have been gunning at the presidential seat but for whatsoever reasons put together, have been missing it. Such major ethnic group, have not sat on that seat for this long, has generated alot of tensions, aggressions, and civic unrest among Igbos and the concerned Nigerian people at large.
While the Igbos will never give up at her ambition to produce the number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is imperative to place WISDOM on duty. Wisdom they say – is profitable to direct.
Quite plethora of political analysts of national status have lent their voices on why the President-elect, 10th Senate and of course the leadership of APC should as a matter of urgency, look towards South East in electing the next Senate President.

Profound in the President-Elect’s acceptance speech are these keywords- UNITY. JUSTICE. PEACE. TOLERANCE.
Let it be recorded in the annals or the Chronicles of the Nigerian Kings, that in the reign of the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that King Ahmed Tinubu ruled in equity and peace. As in the word of Arthur Chan – “Diversity is a fact. Equity is a choice. Inclusion is an action. Belonging is an outcome.”
The strategy that must work, must be tolerance, not high-handedness. Love/Inclusion, not fixated hatred. This is a time of healing, not causing more injuries. This is a time of building, not tearing down.
Let’s not create some more problems and unrest, while we synergize in solving the KING-SIZE problems already on the national table.
We call upon the President, President-Elect, APC central leadership, the would-be 10th assembly of the Senate and concerned citizens, who are in love with equity, peace, and unity of Nigeria to consciously act now in zoning the number three position not only to a Christian but of Igbo descent.
We are not advocates of sentiments, culture, and creed in electing or even appointing office positions in our great country Nigeria. However, the very delicate just concluded presidential election, where we had a Muslim-Muslim ticket, alongside issue of a very unique third force of Igbo descent and the general dissatisfaction with the election outcome, need to be pacified by bringing a very experienced legislature to lead the 10th Senate, who is not only of Igbo origin but a nationalist to the core.
Let it be given to the South East. Let it be given a legislature whose turn it is really, by grace. Let it be given to the man in whom over 95 percent of the Igbo population is well pleased. Let it be given to a legislature with unequal propensity for good governance, presidency of Igbo extraction and Nigeria unity. Though some contrivances and connivance by some mendacious elements in their attempts to excoriate and denigrate a man we loved have been ongoing through their minions, hirelings and vitriolic critics for some time but we are unwavering in our Choice.
We, therefore, present to Nigeria the Igbo choice of Senate President in the person of Senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu(MON)- The erstwhile governor of mineral-rich Abia State.
WHY KALU
Since 1992 till date – Kalu has made a trajectory in governance; Member federal House of Representatives. Executive governor Abia State. The Senator federal republic of Nigeria, with astounded achievements as was Christened ACTION GOVERNOR OF NIGERIA by the then President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Kalu is one Igbo politician whose national appeal truly cuts across the six geopolitical zones.
Kalu is a known Sports enthusiast, with local and international relevance, which will pose a boost to our national sports.
Kalu is the incumbent Senate Chief Whip of the 9th assembly, making him a figure with erudite and in-depth knowledge.
Kalu does not only have legislative experience but also executive experience as he was the youngest 1999 executive governor. He will make a smooth legislative–executive relationship.
Kalu has deep involvement in Njiko Igbo movement, whose main aim is to secure presidency of Igbo extraction. There is a nexus between Kalu’s political quest and love for Igbo emancipation.
Kalu stewarded Nigerian commercial relations with China’s SinoPacific shipbuilding, while serving as a principal of SLOK Holding.
He headed First International Bank Limited at the age of 33.
Kalu whose profile we can’t exhaust in this piece, believes in Nigeria unity; the major reason some politically motivated elements antagonize him. He does not believe in Igbo Presidency but Nigerian Presidency of Igbo extraction. That’s interesting. We support our own MMILI NYILI ENYI NRI.KOLO OF BORNO. BABA METU OF IKARE,EKITI. GARKUWAN KANO. BANNA ZAKI OF LAPAI, NIGER STATE.
Finally, we advocate for Kalu for Senate President while we equally urge the incoming government not to leave Ndi-Igbo behind in chosing of its workforce in line with Federal Character Principles as it is getting set to hit the wheel of governance running.
