The News Agency of Nigeria reports that this followed the adoption of a motion at the budget defence session of the Senate Committee on Finance on Monday in Abuja.
NAN also reports that the motion followed Magaji’s appearance at the budget defence session, during which he offered a remorseful apology to the lawmakers over his earlier failure to honour their invitations.
The committee had previously expressed displeasure with Magaji over what it described as repeated failures to personally attend committee invitations and respond promptly to official correspondence.
Chairman of the committee, Senator Sani Musa, said the lawmakers had observed a pattern of reluctance in responding to the committee’s correspondence.
He noted that the CAC boss often delegated senior officers to represent him instead of appearing personally before the committee.
Musa emphasised that it was the constitutional mandate of the committee to exercise oversight over all revenue-generating agencies of government, including government-owned enterprises (GOEs), as well as ministries, departments, and agencies.
