Sen. Orji Kalu Bags Traditional Title Of Kibiyan Kabi In Kebbi [PHOTOS]

Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu was on Friday honoured with a revered traditional title of Kibiyan Kabi (Commander of the Archers) by the Argungu Emirate in Kebbi State, ABN TV reports.

The Senator representing Abia North had earlier been notified of the conferment of chieftaincy title in a letter from the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Mohammed Mera.

The former Abia governor who arrived Kebbi on Thursday with his  entourage were duly  received by the  state Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and the enthusiastic and good  people of Kebbi state

Also honoured on Friday alongside Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan with the title of “Ganuwan Kabi” of Kebbi Emirates.

In the presence of other palace monarchs, dignitaries, government officials, fellow lawmakers, and well-wishers gathered at the palace, the Abia North Senator and Ahmed Lawan were turbaned and garlanded with traditional attires as required by tradition.

Kalu was also given a Bow and Arrow which signified the meaning of the title.

Some of the dignitaries present were:  Sultan of Sokoto, Shehu of Borno, Governor of Yobe State and National Chairman of the APC, Governors of Kebbi, Kastina and Sokoto states, Senate Majority Leader, All former Governors of Sokoto and Kebbi state; Representative of Speaker of House of Representatives and many other notable dignitaries.
