Sen. Kalu Hosts Tinubu In Abuja, Reveals Their Discussion (Photos)

Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu on Saturday played host to former governor of Lagos State and national leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sen. Kalu who became governor with Tinubu in 1999 described him as political associate.

In a Facebook post sighted by ABN TV on Saturday, Sen. Kalu said their meeting lasted over four hours where they discussed the progress of the country.

He said, “My brother, long time friend and fellow Political associate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu early this afternoon paid us a cordial visit at my Abuja residence . We spent more than four hours discussing the security, unity and progress of the country. We also used the opportunity to reflect on other issues of national importance. God bless Nigeria

Though no other reason was adduced for the meeting of the two political heavyweights, pundits believe that both leaders are figures to watch ahead of the 2023 general election.

Though the former Lagos state governor has not made his intention to run for office of the President public, there are indications that he might have his eye on the country’s top job.

With various groups drumming support for him, they are believed to have his backing.

On his part, Orji Kalu though has publicly said his main agenda now is to represent his people of Abia North and not 2023 political calculations, the plethora of endorsements he has gained across the country may as well suggest that he wants the nation’s number seat.

With the Southern Governors insistence that the country’s next President must come from the region, it is not clear who the odds may favour.
