Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu on Tuesday played host to pupils of “Green Path Preparatory School”, Gaduwa Abuja where he took time to tutor the young minds on the hierarchical structure and functions of members of the National Assembly.
The delegation which had in attendance staff of the school consists of Student Representatives Council led by Chief Whip, Miss Tahira Mijindadi alongside the Speaker, Master Milcah Samm Audu, the Deputy Speaker, Louisa Umaru, Majority Leader, Miss Rihanat Ibadehin and other principal officers, ABN TV reports.
At the visit, the Senator representing Abia also explained to the pupils efforts being made by the Senate to solve the nation’s challenges.
In a social media post, he said, “During the visit I dedicated my time to succinctly explain to them the hierarchical structure and functions of members of the National Assembly.
“While responding to their questions I also gave an account of Senate’s efforts in tackling our nation’s challenges.
“Chronicling the reason(s) and how I ventured into politics after being a successful businessman in my twenties was also inspiring to these young ones. It was also another opportunity to lecture my fellow Chief Whip , Miss Tahira about the legislative tasks that we are expected to execute.
“I am absolutely optimistic that the next generation of our Nation’s leaders will emerge from bright minds like these, hence our duty as current Leaders to put them through the right path.”
