In an effort to boost security in his immediate village of Igbere in Bende local government area of Abia State, the Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has made a donation of brand new motorcycles, food items and cash to the communities that make up the village.
Senator Kalu, Chief Whip of the Senate stated that this donation is in addition to the security arrangements already on ground in the communities.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Sen. Kalu said the items were handed over directly to the village vigilante operatives in the presence of President General of Igbere Welfare Union, Comrade Goddswill .A. Okorie.
He said, “To add more to the security equipments in my immediate Village Igbere , this afternoon I donated motorcycles , food materials and cash to the 13 communities that make up Igbere. These items were directly handed to the village Vigilante in the presence of the President General of Igbere Welfare Union, Comrade Goddswill .A. Okorie”.
The former Abia governor had earlier taken part in the triennial Ezumezu Igbere festival which took place at Igbere Secondary School, Igbere.
Thereafter he inspected some completed and ongoing road projects he initiated as the Senator representing Abia North.
