Security: Ikpeazu Declares Curfew In Umuahia, Aba

In a bid to secure the property and lives of Abians, the state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the imposition of curfew in Umuahia and Aba metropolis between 10pm and 6am daily from Monday, 5th April, 2021 till further notice.

The state government says this is sequel to security reports received from multiple sources, and informed by the need to continue to protect innocent citizens and residents of the state.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the governor said security agencies in the state have been directed to ensure strict enforcement and compliance with the directive.

It added that only those on essential services with proper identification are exempted from the curfew.
